Optician Sales Associate
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Optician to join our team!
Minimum of 1 year experience as an Optician Sales Assistant or Associate is required. ABO certification not required.
Job Type: Part-time or Full Time
Hours: 8:00am – 5:30pm, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri. We aren’t open on weekends.
Primary Responsibilities:
Dispensing Eyewear, assisting customers in the selection of frames and lenses, and eyewear adjustment and repair. Demonstrates good product knowledge; takes initiative to accurately describe the features and benefits of various lenses and frames. Assists the customer in selecting frames and lenses that are best suited for their vision, lifestyle and budgetary needs. Shows patience and courtesy to indecisive or difficult customers and patients. Performs work accurately and thoroughly despite time, pressure, and temporary higher customer volume. Identifies situations involving unsatisfied customers and acts quickly for resolution. Communication with Doctor regarding patient recommendations. Demonstrates knowledge of appointment book/scheduling procedures and computer operation/procedures.
Lab duties include lens ordering, job verification with lensometry, and making lenses by cutting and edging. An optician should be able to verify prescriptions and inspect glasses.

Previous experience as an Optometric Receptionist/Front Desk, Optometric Assistant, Ophthalmic Technician, Medical Assistant, Medical Receptionist, or Optician dispensing, is preferred.
Job Type: Part-time or Full-time (3-5 days a week)
Hours: 7:45am – 5:30pm, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri. We are not open on weekends.
Primary Responsibilities:
Having a warm and outgoing personality when greeting patients in our friendly office. Represent yourself with a clean and neat appearance. Willingness to develop excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to positively handle patient concerns and possess the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a quick-paced environment. Adhere to schedule, monitoring patient activity to insure smooth flow and timely visits. Obtain patient information over a phone or in person then perform accurate and consistent documentation in EHR (electronic health records).
Schedule patient appointments, pre-appoint patients, and call to remind patients of their appointments. Be able to Verify insurance eligibility with medical or vision/optical. Prepare patient files and any necessary insurance forms. Correctly checkout patients when their eye exams are complete. A working knowledge of how most insurances work is helpful. A working knowledge of contact lenses, rebates, insurance, and placing orders for contact lenses is also helpful.

Assisting doctors during examinations. Maintain supplies and cleanliness of exam and testing rooms and equipment. Perform contact lens insertion and removal training. Order and maintain supplies and pharmaceuticals needed by doctors. Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance of doctor’s exam lane and pre-test room. Ensure equipment (both Doctor’s and pre-test) is properly maintained. Participate in regularly scheduled mandatory communication meetings to keep informed of changes in office.
